Why does it become difficult to sit up in bed?
A little hormone called Relaxin….Relaxin is a hormone that is produced during pregnancy which causes pelvic and cervical expansion and relaxation. Expanding joints accompanied by the weight of the pregnant belly make it more difficult to sit up, roll over, and get into and out of bed during the third trimester and during the post-partum period.
It is not uncommon for women to find it not only awkward, but sometimesdifficult and painful to position themselves in bed. Many women find that they are trying to perform some type of clever maneuver to get into or out of bed, or may even need to grab their partner's arm for leverage.
Towards the end of the 3rd trimester, when it's again time to make frequent trips to the bathroom, this task may seem even more daunting than ever.
